Furthermore, the Department represents the University of Oslo in the strategic research collaboration
CIENS - Oslo Centre for Interdisciplinary Environmental and Social Research. 
The Department has a close collaboration with UNIS - the University Studies at Svalbard, and it is easy to incorporatet a term or two at Svalbard in the studies at the department. A once in a lifetime experience!
